S/6083 Antique Treen Early 18th Century Iron Bound Oval Ash Costrel

A most attractive early 18th century oval ash costrel, hollowed out from a branch, having iron bound fitted ends and an integral central handle, originally with a leather carrying strap. The owner's name is scratched carved on the side, which is difficult to make out. The whole has an excellent rich colour and patination.
